Formed in the summer of 2019 by promising, up-and-coming guitarists Sonia Anubis (Crypta, ex-Burning Witches) and Sebastian “Spyder” Silva (Idle Hands, Silver Talon, ex-Spellcaster), Cobra Spell are influenced by the golden era sound of the ’80s. Anxiously wanting to start a band, the duo’s dreams were further cemented after meeting metal legend Alice Cooper, who advised the guitarists to follow their dreams of making music together. To complete the lineup, Sonia and Sebastian enlisted the support of like-minded musicians with a burning desire for over-the-top antics on-stage and unique style to match. Alexx Panza (Hitten, Jack Starr’s Burning Starr) takes command and channels ’80s-metal greats with powerful, reverberating vocals, while Angelina Vehera lays a steady, rockin’ foundation with earth-shattering, rumbling bass, and Mike ‘Lucas’ Verhof creates the backbone with machine-gun-like drumming tenacity. Cobra Spell are armed and ready to blaze a trail of sleazy nostalgia while bringing renewed relevance to an under-appreciated era of heavy metal. In September 2020, the band released their debut EP titled 'Love Venom'. The songs paint a glistening image of night-life fun, reckless lust and sleazy love. Love Venom is an EP driven with many shred guitar parts, hook infused vocals and thunder-like rhythm sections. With this release, the band saw many positive reviews worldwide, pushing their drive to make new music even further. 'Anthems Of The Night' was recorded in December 2021 at PKO Studios. Produced, mixed and mastered by Alejandro Gabasa Barcoj from Comeback Studios. The band meticulously crafted 4 new songs, aptly fit for a summer’s night drive with the top down and the music loud. In October 2022, the current formation released a single titled Flaming Heart along to a music video. In September 2023, Cobra Spell, now consisting of Kristina Vega (lead vocals), Sonia Anubis (guitars, synthesizers), Noelle dos Anjos (guitars), Roxy Herrera (bass) and Hale Naphtha (drums) unveiled a video for their new single “S.E.X.” from their upcoming album '666', slated for release on December 1, 2023.
