With more than 30.000 CD`s sold, they retain the roots and soul of the genre but brings a completely new approach and vision.@ A quintet of young musicians, in 2004, formed the contemporary Tango band VIOLENTANGO, with a mutual desire to reinterpret classical tango forms with a vibrant modern twist. The band deliver an energetic approach through their improvisations of traditional tango themes like "Barceluna" and "Menos Sol", reflecting a detailed search for new sounds and rhythms. With arrangements like "Libertango" or "A Fuego Lento" a distinctive flair shows their inherent sense of creativity, performed with authority and skillfull musicianship. Violentango successfully breaks the boundaries of classical tango structures, yet retains the very essence of its passion, thats why the band have played in diferent kind of festivals like World Music, Jazz, Tango, Rock The management of the band is carried out by the members themselves, all of whom are less than thirty years of age. In 2010, Violentango toured in Europe and South America, presenting “Rock de Nylon”, their new album. Following 17 tours in the last six years, the band has been declared to be of “Cultural and Artistic Interest” by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Culture. With more than 27.000 CD`s sold, the schedule of the Rock de Nylon tour had more than 50 concerts programmed between June and September in countries such as Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Serbia, Germany (World Cup 2006), Austria, Brasil, Chile, Uruguay, Croatia and England, where they played at the Glastonbury Festival. The “Rock de Nylon” concept is based on bringing real and passionately performed Tango to every culture, by setting aside the existing concept of “Tourist Tango”. Violentango retain the roots and soul of the genre but brings a completely new approach and vision. This 4th album contains a majority of the band`s own compositions and displays an exciting and new style of Tango, in which the listeners will find themselves becoming more and more involved.
