Biography

Uli Jon Roth is a German multi-instrumentalist musician who has written his own musical scores and arrangements and achieved international fame with his hard rock and heavy metal work, earning acclaim both as a solo artist and as a member of the popular group Scorpions. Roth has also served as a music director as well as a painter of realistic oil paintings and writer of his own poetry. Many guitarists have looked to Roth's music as inspiration over the years. Uli invented his own unique instrument - the by now legendary 6-octave Sky guitar which is without peer. He produces his own albums and directs his own videos. Artistically he has been an inspiration to many of his fellow artists as well as his audience and continues to be so. He has been cited by countless guitarists from all over the world as one of their main influences. Widely recognized as perhaps the single most important protagonist of Neo-classical guitar playing, Uli is seen by many as a trend-setter who has often been considerably ahead of his time. In recognition of his remarkable artistic achievements Uli was officially inducted in the Walk of Fame by Europe's only Rock & Pop Museum, which is situated in Gronau, Germany. This took place in September 2003 at a concert in London. ULI JON ROTH SHORT MUSIC BIOGRAPHY Born in Duesseldorf, Germany, Dec. 1954 1973-1978 Lead-guitarist and one of the main songwriters for German No. 1 rock band SCORPIONS - 5 albums, including several gold ones - TOKYO TAPES, which sold nearly 1 million copies. 1978-1985 - formed his own band ELECTRIC SUN - 3 Albums : 1978 - EARTHQUAKE 1980 - FIRE WIND 1984 - BEYOND THE ASTRAL SKIES Tours in Europe and the US.
