Lucas (February 27, 1993) and Arthur (1996) Jussen are two brothers. They started in their early years as pianists. They come from a musical family: their mother Christianne van Gelder is a flute teacher and father Paul Juss is in the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra timpanist and percussionist in Da Capo. The brothers are regularly taught by the Portuguese pianist Maria João Pires. She played with pianists like Lang Lang and Ricardo Castro. On November 24, 2006 they played at the age of ten and thirteen with the Radio Kamer Filharmonie (a Dutch symphony orchestra led by Jaap van Zweden) Mozart's Concerto for two pianos KV 365. In March 2010 the brothers signed a contract with the prestige record label Deutsche Grammophon. They were in popular Dutch radio- and television shows and received a gold music prize (10.000+ albums, ref. NVPI) at 'De Wereld Draait Door', even before their album officially was released.
