The Harlem Gospel Choir was formed in 1986. It is a ministry and registrered charity. The choir are knowm as "ambassadors of Harlem" and travel the world, sharing their joy of faith & bringing about a better understanding of the African American culture as it relates to the black church. Each performance brings you anointed praise and worship singers and musicians, each of whom grew up singing and performing in their community church. The Harlem Gospel Choir is known for its contributions to humanity and for the uplifting and powerful effect its performance can have on the people in its audience. For its work, the choir has received numerous awards of recognition and was granted a private audience with His Holiness, tha late Pope John Paul II. The Choir has been privileged to work with such famous artists as Bono & U2, The Chieftans, Diana Ross, Harry Belafonte, Ashford & Simpson, Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg, Paul Newman, Lyle Lovett, Christopher Reeve, Brooks & Dunn, Jimmy Cliff, Avril Lavigne and the virtual band Gorillaz!
