Biography

Blas Cantó was born on 26 October 1991, in Molina de Segura, Murcia, Spain. He is one of the youngest artists from the region of Murcia, a region which he has represented at national and international level. His fondness for music began when he was very small. When he was only two years old, he was singing songs of Pimpinela, somewhat unusual in his generation. His musical path begins in his hometown of Molina de Segura, when at the age of 3 or 4 he was invited to perform at anniversaries, baptisms and communions to sing for the guests. He would sing songs such as "Granada", or songs by Joselito or Marisol. His talent was growing, and he began singing classes in the school of music in Molina de Segura, as well as participating in some choirs. He studied the trumpet and piano in the 'Professional Conservatory' of Molina de Segura until 4th grade of medium degree, and he now continues his studies in music at college. Blas has appeared numerous times on Spanish Television : In the year 2000 he won first prize at the Spanish music competition "Veo, Veo". At only 8 years, he represented Murcia in the National competition which was produced by TVE. In 2002, when he was only 10 years old he won first prize at "Veo, Veo", and went on to represent Spain at the International finals. In 2003 he won third prize at the international level of "Veo, Veo", beating competators from all over the world. In 2004 he was a finalist of the Eurojunior 2004, where he wrote and performed two of his own songs 'Sentir' and 'Cantare'. The winner of the Junior Eurovision 2004 was María Isabel with "Antes muerta que Sencilla". With his friends from Eurojunior he recorded his first CD which includeds the two songs he wrote himself. The CD was produced by VALEMUSIC. Following the success of Eurojunior, Blas and his friends performed tours all around Spain in 2005 and 2006. In 2007 Blas recorded his new single "Tengo una Corazonada", written by Félix Pizarro and produced by Gabriel Oré. Read more on Last.fm.
