Biography

ARTMS (Hangul: 아르테미스) is a five-member South Korean girl group formed by MODHAUS. It is composed of members HeeJin (희진), HaSeul (하슬), Kim Lip (김립), JinSoul (진솔), and Choerry (최리). Prior to the group's debut, all five members were introduced as members of 12-membered girl group LOONA (Hangul: 이달의 소녀) in 2016-2017 through the pre-debut project "Girl of the Month" under BlockBerry Creative. After the terminations of their contracts with the label throughout 2023, the five members signed exclusive contracts with MODHAUS, joining project group ARTMS. HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry signed with the new label on March 17, 2023, and HaSeul signed on June 20, 2023. The project group was announced on April 1, 2023, with a cryptic social media teaser, and a website launch featuring an extended snippet of unreleased LOONA track "BURN". ARTMS was initially announced as "not a name of a new group (but rather) a story about the amazing strategies and plans of the girls to get to the moon." The ARTMS project aims to keep the roots of LOONA, as the first project teaser shows twelve moons representing the twelve LOONA members, and four full moons representing HeeJin, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. It was later stated that "initially, ARTMS was the name of the program to reach an orbit, but fate intertwined the girls with the name," thus announcing that ARTMS would become the name of the group of HeeJin, HaSeul, Kim Lip, JinSoul, and Choerry. As part of ARTMS, the members released one sub-unit album, one solo album, one solo digital single, and one special single prior to their official group debut. On October 31, 2023, MODHAUS revealed through HeeJin's album description, that ARTMS are preparing for their debut album (derived from Korean 달; moon) said to be released in early 2024. The album was officially announced on February 29, 2024, where it was revealed that the name is an acronym for "Devine All Love & Live". The album was released on May 31, 2024, with four premiere singles to be released leading up to the album release, the first of which is "Birth" released on March 29. The first premiere single was followed by Flower Rhythm, Candy Crush and Air. The last three premiere singles were references to their previous song releases as Kehwa, Plastic Candy, and Air Force One (in this order). Read more on Last.fm.
